'Survivor: San Juan del Sur' Drops Redemption Island

In perhaps the best Survivor-related news in weeks, host Jeff Probst has confirmed that the proposed return of Redemption Island for Survivor: San Juan del Sur: Blood vs. Water has been scrapped.

While it's not exactly confirmed that dropping the twist was a result of the medical evacuation of two castaways pre-game -- which left the cast with an uneven number of men and women -- one thing is for certain: the producers have had a change of heart. In the place of Redemption Island will be an all-new addition to the game.

“We decided, we have this arena being built: What if instead of [Redemption Island], we use it for something else. Something that will make Blood vs. Water a little more… interesting,” Probst said on EW Morning Live with Jessica Shaw and co-host Dalton Ross.
