Nikki Reed Files for Divorce from Husband Paul McDonald

Twilight actress Nikki Reed has filed for divorce from her husband, American Idol alum Paul McDonald.

They first announced they were separating in March.

Reed cited the age old (and quite boring) "irreconcilable differences" excuse as the reason for their parting of ways and has requested that McDonald not seek spousal support. The pair first met at the premiere of Little Red Riding Hood in March of 2011 and were quickly married in Malibu, California a mere seven months after being introduced.

They previously admitted they were splitting months ago, announcing in a statement that, "After much consideration, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are ending their marriage. They will continue to share their love of music, and are still working on their debut album, I'm Not Falling, releasing in 2014."

"They remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together."

This was the first marriage for them both.
