White House Responds to Justin Bieber Deportation Petition
Good news, the White House has finally responded (as promised) to that Justin Bieber deportation petition.
Bad news, it's by saying they refuse to comment on it.
As the White House announced in an official statement, "Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one."
"The We the People terms of participation state that, 'to avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.'"
They jokingly concluded, "So we'll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber's case, but we're glad you care about immigration issues."
The petition to send Bieber back to Canada garnered 273,000 signatures.
Just for reference, 100,000 signatures are all that was needed to guarantee a response from the White House.
