Justin Bieber arrested in Canada, charged with dangerous driving and assault
Justin Bieber was arrested in Ontario, Canada last Friday and charged with dangerous driving and assault after an ATV crash, CTV News reported on Tuesday.
An ATV (which Justin and girlfriend Selena Gomez) were riding crashed with a minivan (presumably occupied by paparazzi). There was an altercation afterwards and Bieber was arrested and charged.
Justin Bieber was ordered to return to court on Sept. 29.
His legal team released this statement on Tuesday about the incident:
"Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez' peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi. This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved."
Bieber has been involved on the wrong side of the law over the years, and just last July, he was sentenced to two years probation for egging.
