Joan Rivers being brought out of Medically Induced Coma, Melissa 'fingers crossed' for a miracle
Doctors at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City have begun the process of getting Joan Rivers out of a medically induced coma, the NY Daily News reported on Sunday citing various sources. The process would take a couple of days and doctors won't know of the extent of the damage to Joan until Tuesday.
According to a source:
"There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair."
Melissa Rivers sent out another statement on Sunday, saying:
"We are keeping our fingers crossed."
The NY Daily News adds that though Melissa is trying to sound upbeat in the press -- she's actually "totally hysterical and at a loss of what to do."
Joan Rivers stopped breathing while undergoing a minor throat operation and was rushed to Mount Sinai last Thursday. She had cardiac and respiratory arrest. She's been declared in stable but critical condition, but it was revealed this weekend that she is on life support.
The outpouring of support for Joan has been incredible over the last couple of days. I really hopes she sticks around to see it.
