Disney Channel officially announces Zendaya spy comedy, 'K.C. Undercover'
After it was first reported a while back, Disney has officially announced the Zendaya-fronted K.C. Undercover.
Production on the series will begin the summer and it is planned for an early 2015 release. According to press release, "The comedy focuses on K.C. Cooper, a high school math whiz who’s training to be an undercover super spy, following in the footsteps of her parents. Each episode finds the Coopers balancing typical family issues while performing undercover missions to protect the country."
Zendaya is co-producing the show with Shake It Up producer Rob Lotterstein, who has worked with the singer-actress since she was 13. Disney VP of programming Adam Bonnet said, "Zendaya and Rob Lotterstein are a powerhouse combination to produce Disney Channel’s next action driven sitcom. This show has all of the Disney Channel attributes – family, friendship, humor and heart all from the point of view of an incredibly talented and relatable teenage girl."
Kadeem Harrison (A Different World) and Tammy Townsend (The Client List) are portraying her parents, and the show will also feature Kamil McFadden (The House of Payne) and Veronica Dunne (Our Wild Hearts).
Great news! Go Z!
