Zendaya tapped to star in new Disney Channel spy comedy

The Disney star-making factory isn't done with Zendaya just yet. The Shake It Up star will headline a new spy comedy that the network has green lit.

The show, entitled Super Awesome Katy, "centers on 16-year-old Katy Cooper (Zendaya), an outspoken and confident technology wiz and skilled black belt, who discovers that both her parents are spies who expect her to follow in their footsteps."

Shake It Up executive producer Rob Lotterstein will also produce this series. Production is expected to begin in early 2014 for the show to begin airing during the 2014-15 season. If ordered to series, this will extend Zendaya's relationship with Disney. The series finale of her first show, Shake It Up (which also starred Bella Thorne and debuted in 2010) will air tomorrow, November 10th.

She is also starring in the upcoming Disney movie, Zapped! Congrats, Z!
