American Idol to give $50K to 'True Believer' of Season 14 Winner
American Idol will give away $50,000 to the 'true believer' of Season 14's winner next year.
The 'true believer' is the one person -- a family member, colleague or friend -- most instrumental in getting the 2015 winner to audition.
Contestants will be asked who their 'true believer' is during the auditions and if they don't have one (like their 'true believer' is themselves) the show will donate the $50,000 to a charity of the winner's choosing.
The 'True Believer' program kicks off during Idol's first round of auditions in:
Minneapolis (June 18)
New Orleans (June 25)
Uniondale, NY (July 23)
Nashville (July 30)
San Francisco (Sep 29)
