'American Idol' Executive Producer Per Blankens Quits After Series Finale News

Per Blankens, executive producer of American Idol for the last two seasons, has quit the show. He didn't even stick around for the final glorious season!

I guess he knows really what's up.

The Wrap reports that FremantleMedia president of entertainment programming for North America Trish Kinane will be serving as showrunner for season 15.

Though Kinane has executive produced a few American Idol shows over the years, she produced most of the shows for The X Factor USA Season 2 in 2012. Should I be worried? I don't know what to feel.

American Idol had its worst ratings this past season and it was demoted to a single show during the week during the public voting round.

FOX couldn't take it anymore and decided to cancel after season 15.
