Today, Zac Efron is happy, healthy, and looking better than ever. Who knew that just five months ago the 25-year-old star completed a stint in rehab?
A source told E! Online, "He's healthy, happy and not drinking… He's taking time to focus on working."
Parkland, a drama focused on the days surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy, hits theaters on October 4th. Efron plays Jim Carrico, a first-year surgical resident who became the first person to examine President Kennedy's body following the shooting.
Efron explained, "The three days are really shrouded in so much mystery and controversy with conspiracy theories… Growing up, I didn't know what was fact or fiction. But the simple truths of what transpired that we know for a fact are all in this movie."
Zac Efron will later appear alongside Seth Rogen in Neighbors and in the comedy That Awkward Moment.

Update: Take this with a grain of salt, but TMZ is now reporting that Efron actually had a bit of a cocaine problem during the shooting of the aforementioned Neighbors. That and some dabbling with Molly led him to seek help.
Just a personal aside: I've always been very impressed with the way Zac Efron has handled his career and the fame that's come along with it. If any young star can take a fumble like this and recover, it's him. Good luck, Zac!
