Yaneza vs. Yaneza

I just remembered that Denmark and I have been in competition for quite sometime now on who gets to be the #1 "Yaneza" on Google, Yahoo, etc. Denmark does a lot of web design work in the Philippines, while I, Rickey Yaneza, basically just blog during the wee hours of the morning. I've been at #1 for a couple of years now, mostly since I own yaneza.com, but surprisingly, my first web site from 1996 is now at the top of the list. Denmark consistently has had more results on Google's first page than I do, so I've been lucky. You can say that we're a duopoly and all the other Yaneza's will have to settle for page 2 and beyond.

I'm probably related to Denmark, but I've only communicated with him by e-mail and chat, and that was some time ago. We agreed that we're related by some nth degree, though not knowing how. My family is pretty certain that if you are a Yaneza and you can trace your roots to Pagsanjan, Laguna in the Philippines, then we're most likely related.

Having my name splattered all over the web is useful since you know how to find me, but it can also be embarassing. I have no control over questionable sites who choose to list me, and a few years back, they were turning up on the top of the lists. I then decided that if I have no choice but to be found on the web, then find me the right way on my terms. I've pretty much succeeded in bringing the sites I do own to the top of the search lists.
