The X Factor USA 2013 - Power Rankings - Girls
The X Factor USA is taking a bit of a break before the live shows begin. In the meantime, we thought we'd take a look at the competition and rank who we believe may be the frontrunners this season and who may or may not struggle. Straight from the mind of Gabe, we start first with the Girls.
Number 1 on the list is Ellona Santiago. This isn't Ellona's first time gracing the X Factor Stage, as she was a part of the tweeny bopper group inTENsity that Pauler put together during the first incarnation of the series. I believe Ellona's past experience, powerful vocals, and Filipina heritage pushes her right over the edge of some of the other girls this season.
2. Rion Paige
Next up is Rion Paige. She's a sweet girl with a giant personality and massive following due to her being a personal inspiration. We are going to be seeing lots of Rion on the coming weeks, and she is definitely one to keep an eye on as the competetion progresses. While I believe that Ellona has her beat in vocal chops, if Rion proves she is capable of delivering stand out performances, we can easily expect to see her in the finale.
3. Khaya Cohen
Khaya Cohen definitely embodies one thing: Potential. She, I would argue almost more than anyone else involved this year, just has that *something* about her that draws you in and gives you images of someone who could be really successful in the entertainment business. Her performances have been shaky, but underneath that you get this nice silky voice with a lot of depth and girth, and just glint of someone who is destined for stardom. She's so natural on the stage and is an exciting presence. However, potential is just that ...potential. Not everyone reaches their potential and only time will tell if Khaya will be able to do that.
Danielle Geimer is that girl with the quirky voice and personality that singing competition TV has been trying to make work ever since Danielle Diana Vickers graced the screen. I'm over it, just as much as I am with WGWG. I'm frankly surprised that she made it into the Top 4, and while beautiful, young, and talented, I think she lacks behind the other girls pretty significantly. Fortunately for her, there is so much fodder this year that she may actually survive for a little while.
