The X Factor UK - Winner's Single Charity Details

The X Factor UK is responsible for a guaranteed, yearly smash hit with its winner's single, the proceeds of which are donated to charity in the spirit of the holiday season, and this year will be no different. The only question that remains is which charities the release will benefit.

It has been officially announced that this year's winner's single will raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Together For Short Lives. The currently untitled track will be performed by two singers during the live final at Wembley Arena, to be released digitally on the same day, December 15. A CD release will follow on December 18, with 100% of the profits of both CD sales and downloads to be split between the two charities.

"Both Together for Short Lives and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity are really important charities. Every day they do inspiring work and help a load of kids and their families, all of which need their expertise and support," said series creator Simon Cowell.

"I have been lucky enough to see first-hand the great work that both of these charities do and I am thrilled that we can do something to help by donating the sales of The X Factor winner's single to them both. Thank you in advance to everyone who will help."
