The X Factor UK 2014 Results: The Final 12 + Wildcard Twist Revealed (VIDEO)
The X Factor UK 2014 revealed the 12 acts moving through to Live Shows after a grueling round of performances at Judges' Houses.
Simon Cowell took his Over 25s to Los Angeles, where he had the help of singer Sinitta in whittling down the six acts to three. Meanwhile, Mel B sought the help of fellow Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton for her Boys category, as the finalists flew to Cancun, Mexico to sing for their lives. Louis Walsh took his Groups to Bermuda, where he received the help of former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos in picking the three groups he would put through to Live Shows. Lastly, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini took her Girls to Nice where they sang for guest mentor Tinie Tempah.
To recap, these were the six finalists in each category (click on the name to be taken directly to their Judges' Houses performance):

However, it may not be over for your favorites. Yes, there will be a wildcard twist! And it's different from every other wildcard twist the series has ever had: the judges will be selecting the wildcard act for each other's categories. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will pick the wildcard for Mel B's Boys; Mel B will pick a Group for Louis Walsh; Walsh will select an Over 25 for Simon Cowell; and Cowell will choose a Girl for Cheryl. This will leave us with 16 finalists and, presumably, double eliminations like we got for Seasons 7 (the show's best season, in my opinion).
It's unknown if the wildcard choices can only come from those eliminated from Judges' Houses (which would allow hope for cut acts like Emily Middlemas, Lola Saunders, Helen Fulthorpe, Jack Walton, and the New Girl Group), or if those eliminated at Boot Camp could also be considered (which would give hope for the return of Overload, Charlie Brown, Monica Michael, or Raign, if you're feeling crazy).
Which acts will be the four wildcards? And what do you think of the 12 acts put through to Live Shows? Sound off in the comments!
