X Factor finalists Sister C releasing album in March

Sister C was one of the more polarizing acts of The X Factor USA's second season, as audiences had a bit of a hard time warming to them, to say nothing of judge Britney Spears' vocal ambivalence towards the group. However, the girls were among the more polished of the top 16 acts to make it through to live shows, and though they ultimately didn't get the nod from Simon to advance to voting rounds, their elimination has done little to slow their progress in the country music industry.

The group, consisting of sisters Cirby, Carli and Celbi Manchac, spent much of January in Nashville, TN and Austin, TX, recording tracks for their EP and for their forthcoming album.

The first single will be released the first week of March, with the album to follow at an unspecified date in late March. The record features tracks produced by Grammy Award-winning country music producer Lloyd Maines (father of Dixie Chicks member Natalie Maines, and producer behind their 2003 album, Home), and will include songs written both by veteran Nashville songwriters as well as by the girls themselves.

The EP, "Sneak Peek", is available now on iTunes: Link
