Thoughts

Where to start? Just a great way to end this season of The X Factor. Seriously, they let this woman go! Had Matt Gresham not dropped out, who knows how this season would have gone? That's INSANE to me. No "Purple Rain," no "And I Am Telling You (I'm Not Going)," none of it would have happened!

So yeah, I'm definitely stoked that Dami won. But there's a lot to be said about the class shown by the runners-up. Jai took his third place finish like a man, showing poise and maturity the whole way through. And Taylor was just great, not only getting the "Dami" chants going, but also singing along with her coronation song with the biggest, goofiest, most joyful expression on his face. It just might have been the most adorable moment of the entire season, rivaled only by the top 12 acts coming together in the end to encircle Dami in a group hug while chanting her name.

Maybe I didn't agree with every result, but it's hard for me to disagree with this one. Though there was a lot of fodder in the early going, the season became one of the tightest X Factor seasons in recent memory. No crazy drama, no bitter contestants, no vindictive, passive-aggressive judges, no controversy. Just talented people singing great songs like pros. I loved this season.

Congratulations, Dami Im!
