The X Factor Australia Top 5 Results: Top 4 Revealed on 10/06/2014 (VIDEO)
Here is the recap and results video for The X Factor Australia Live Decider 9 on October 6, 2014.
The results are in! Which act will depart the competition just short of the final four? Last week, we had our biggest shocker of the season so far as Reigan Derry made her first Bottom 2 appearance alongside category-mate Jason Heerah, who was eliminated after the judges sent the result to Deadlock. Will we be in for a similarly shocking result tonight? Who will leave The X Factor Australia 2014 in fifth place?
One act lands in the Bottom 2 for the very first time!
Let's get to it!
Finalists Performance
Top 5 sing 'Am I Wrong' with Nico & Vinz (I actually really enjoyed this, although I found it funny how Vinz couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of Caitlyn)
Guest Performances
Taylor Henderson sings 'Host of Angels'
Nico & Vinz sing 'In Your Arms'

Host Luke Jacobz reveals the results...
Bottom 2
Well, I guess SOMEBODY had to be in the Bottom 2 with Caitlyn. But come on, Australia, Brothers 3 was right there!
Final Showdown
Caitlyn Shadbolt sings 'If I Die Young' by The Band Perry / Dean Ray sings 'Hurt' by Nine Inch Nails
Dean seriously delivered one of my favorite sing-off performances ever on this show. Incredibly raw and passionate.
Final Decision
Judges Vote
Ronan Keating votes to eliminate Dean Ray
Redfoo votes to eliminate Caitlyn Shadbolt
Natalie Bassingthwaighte votes to eliminate Caitlyn Shadbolt
Dannii Minogue votes to eliminate Caitlyn Shadbolt
CAITLYN SHADBOLT is eliminated from THE X FACTOR AUSTRALIA 2014!
THOUGHTS
Yeah, this was the right call. I'm not even that upset that Dean was in the Bottom 2, because 1) someone had to be there with Caitlyn and I've resigned myself to the fact that it was never going to be Brothers 3, and 2) because this doesn't really hurt his chances of winning as much as it would have had it happened earlier, since I think he might actually get a boost in the votes thanks to this. And it'll be the perfect time for it too, as we're heading to the semifinals. Somebody is going to get rocket-launched into the grand final, and I'm hoping it'll be Dean (he's still my pick to win).
But what did you think of the result? Was this the right Bottom 2? Did the right act go home? Sound off in the comments!
