Here is the recap and results video for The X Factor Australia Live Show 1 on August 11, 2014.

Which acts landed in the Bottom 2? And which category will suffer the first loss of the season? Will it be Natalie Bassingthwaighte and the Boys, Ronan Keating and the Girls, Redfoo and the Over 25s, or Dannii Minogue and the Groups?

It's an emotional live decider! But it's not all sad, as the show features guest performances by former judge Guy Sebastian, and last year's champion, Dami Im!

Final Decision

Judges Vote

Dannii Minogue sends home Adrien Nookadu
Natalie Bassingthwaighte sends home Trill
Ronan Keating sends home Trill

TRILL is eliminated from THE X FACTOR AUSTRALIA 2014!

Second year in a row where the girl group is eliminated first. All in all, I don't agree with this decision, as I thought there were several weaker acts that sailed through, such as Younger Than Yesterday and Brothers 3. But I'm not even sure this was the right decision from this Bottom 2, since I'm not entirely certain that Adrien has the potential to go any demonstrably further than Trill might have, especially if he's in trouble this early. That said, Samantha Jade won two years ago despite spending a ridiculous amount of time in the Bottom 2. More relevantly, she was in the Bottom 2 in the very first week. So Adrien is not at all out of this competition yet, although I have a feeling his save might be a bit controversial.

What do you think? Did the right two acts land in the Bottom 2? And was the right act sent home? Sound off in the comments!
