The X Factor Australia Top 11 Results: Top 10 Revealed on 08/25/2014 (VIDEO)

Here is the recap and results video for The X Factor Australia Live Decider 3 on August 25, 2014.

But first, some quick thoughts on the third live show, since I was out of town during the performance show:

Luckily, I was able to catch all 11 performances late last night, and -- at the risk of sounding crotchety -- I thought it was a night of curiously overpraised performances. I'm glad Tee is getting upbeat songs for once, but "I Knew You Were Waiting" is kind of a corny, tired choice. Similarly, Rochelle is a much better singer than the songs she's been given, as I don't really feel she's delivered on the potential of those pre-live show performances. And don't even get me started on what Ronan is doing to Marlisa with some of these song choices. I think she's a great singer with loads of potential, but it's buried deep underneath all these dreary, inexplicable song picks. But hey, at least Jason still brought it! (Dude is seriously becoming a bright spot in this entire competition) And I somewhat enjoyed Brothers 3 for once, so there's that, I suppose. Oh, and Reigan was good! Granted, it was probably her weakest performance of the competition so far, but even a middling Reigan performance is better than half of what we get on any one show.

But onto the results, as tonight's Bottom 2 features an act that has landed there for the first time against an act that is no stranger to the hotseat! Who will go home? And who will survive? It's our first DEADLOCK of the season!

THOUGHTS

Eh, I kind of thought both acts tanked the sing-off, so I like that Dannii sent it to deadlock. When two are acts are that nervous, and it affects their sing-off performances that badly, I'd rather the judges just sent it to Australia's vote. Ultimately, I thought this was the right result, as Nat put Adrien through way too early. He's a guy who really could have benefited from a few more years of seasoning. Hell, even one more year might have done him a world of good. He could have come back and slayed this entire competition if he'd had more experience under his belt, such as better vocal control and more practice in balancing the singing with the dancing (his vocals almost always suffered when he tried to blend the two). Adrien is a talented guy, but this wasn't his year. However, I wonder how many other years might have been, had Nat stepped back and said, "You know what? You're great, but you're just not ready yet. I'm so sorry."

But what did you think of the result? Did the right act go home? Was this even the right Bottom 2? Sound off in the comments!
