WWE Stars Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, More Comment on Death of Chyna
Yesterday, former WWE superstar Joanie Laurer, who wrestled as Chyna in the late 90s and early 2000s, was found dead in her Los Angeles home at the age of 45. Today, her former friends and colleagues, as well as those who admired her, are speaking out in tribute to the first female to hold the Intercontinental title.
In addition to current Women's Champion Charlotte, and Attitude Era colleagues Mick Foley and Trish Stratus, the Twitter tributes include messages from current WWE executives Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Chyna was integral to Triple H's initial ascent to prominence as part of D-Generation X in 1997, and although their later backstage romantic relationship didn't work out, they had a lasting affect on one another's careers during the Attitude Era. You can read Triple H's comments, along with the comments of many other friends and colleagues of Chyna's, by checking out the tweets below:

Someone who wasn't afraid to blaze her own trail & create a path for those who would follow. A pioneer whose star shined bright. #RIPChyna

It's still kind of hard to believe Chyna is really gone. It really doesn't feel like it's been that long since the last big wrestling boom, when Chyna was beating up dudes and winning male titles. Put simply, 45 is way too young for someone to die. Chyna will be missed, but her contributions are evident in the prominence of women on the roster today. Say what you will about her post-WWE choices, but she really was a trailblazer with her accomplishments.
