Wrestling - Women's Freestyle (48kg & 63kg) - London 2012 Olympics - Results
Clarissa Kyoko Mei Ling Chun was the lone American to make either medal round in the 48 & 63kg weightclasses of the Women's Freestyle Wrestling event at the London 2012 Olympics.
The same nation would win both the gold medals, which was fine by me, since the music of their national anthem is one my favorites that I've heard.
Here are your medal results:
In the 48kg gold medal match, Hitomi Obara of Japan faced Mariya Stadnyk of Azerbaijan. Stadnyk got off to a great start winning four straight points to take the first match, however Obara came roaring back, winning the second and third bouts 1-0 & 2-0 to take the gold medal with a score of 2 matches to 1.
American Clarissa Kyoko Mei Ling Chun defeated Irini Merleni in her repechage match to win one of the two bronze medals. Carol Huynh of Canada defeated Isabelle Sambou of Senegal to win the other.
