Bad news everyone, It's a Wonderful Life is getting that sequel no one asked for.
We would probably be bah-humbuging more if it was a remake.
The film will be titled It’s A Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story and features Karolyn Grimes as an angel who teaches George Bailey’s grandson how life would be better if he had never been born.
Karolyn Grimes played George Bailey’s (Jimmy Stewart's) daughter "Zuzu" in the original 1946 film and talks are also happening to get actors Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey) and Carol Coombs (Janie Bailey) to reprise their roles.
Said screenplay writer Bob Farnsworth of the sequel, "The storyline of the new film retains the spirit of the original – every life is important as long as you have friends."
In other words, It's a Wonderful Life: Friendship Is Magic.
"The new film will retain the feeling of the original, and it simply must be shared,” Grimes revealed. “I’ve probably read close to 20 scripts over the years suggesting a sequel to It’s a Wonderful Life, but none of them were any good. The script by Bob Farnsworth and Martha Bolton was wonderful, and I wanted to be involved with his version of the film immediately."
Merry Christmas, movie house!
