Women's Pole Vault - London 2012 Olympics - Results

Jennifer Suhr competed with the world's best pole vaulters in the London 2012 Olympics.  It was a close (and lengthy) competition with an exciting finish!

Here are your gold medal results:

The first thing that struck me about this event was just how many distractions these women have to deal with.  I'm sure the same happens for some of the other events, but I really noticed it in this one.  Between the crowd roaring for the runners competing in the track events, to having to stop in the middle of what they were doing for the medal ceremony of the shot put event, it seems like it would be really hard to stay focused.

In the end American Jennifer Suhr just edged out  Yarisley Silva of Cuba to win the gold.  Silva set a new national record on her way to claiming the silver.  Great job ladies!

Results:

Gold: Jennifer Suhr - United States

Silver: Yarisley Silva - Cuba

Bronze: Elena Isinbaeva - Russia

Congratulations to all the medalists!
