Women's Individual Epee - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

The women squared off in the Individual Epee event at the London 2012 Olympics today.  Read on for all the medal results.

I love sword fighting in movies, so I've been disappointed that so many of the fencing events have been on at the same time as the medal rounds in other events.  I did get to watch some of the final match up in the medal round of he women's Epee.  The actual sword work seems to be mostly a lot of feinting, followed by a timely lunge, however the footwork is what I found most fascinating. The event almost looks like a dance, or perhaps a dance at a Lady Gaga concert anyway.

Results:

Gold: Yana Shemyakina - Ukraine

Silver: Britta Heidemann - Germany

Bronze: Sun Yujie - China

Congratulations to all the medalists!
