Women's 10m Air Pistol - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Round - Results

Gold, silver and bronze were handed out this morning in the Women's 10m Air Pistol competition.

The 10m Air Pistol is one of the more fascinating events I have watched so far at the 2012 Olympic Games.  Eight women square off, decked out in funky headgear and wielding futuristic looking pistols and take dead aim at a series of paper targets.

The crowd is small, but very enthusiastic and the competitors are intensely focused.  They barely move a muscle as they fire their ten shots in each round.  It is so quiet in the arena, you can hear the clicking of the guns as they fire their shots.

After each round the announcer enthusiastically reads off a series of scores, based on how many times they hit their mark.  The competition was neck and neck at the top all the way through, with the bronze and silver positions coming down to a shoot off.
