What's On TV Tonight? - 10/23/2012

Lots of new TV tonight, including two big season premieres. Get your DVRs queued up!

(Only shows premiering new episodes will be listed, although shows will be listed regardless of whether or not we're covering them)

8:00 PM ET

Dancing With The Stars: All Stars (LIVE), - Looks like everyone can breathe a little easier, as tonight's show sees no dancers being eliminated. Kick back and enjoy a freestyle team dance and performances set to ``guilty pleasure'' songs. No Hall and Oates, no buys. (ABC)

The Voice ("The Battles Continue") - Billie Joe Armstrong, Michael Bublé, Rob Thomas, and Mary J. Blige drop by to contribute to the decision-making process. (NBC)

NCIS ("Lost At Sea") - The team investigates the crash of a helicopter during a routine training mission, and set out searching for the helicopter's missing pilot. Also, Ziva challenges McGee and Tony to a dare. (CBS)

Raising Hope ("If A Ham Falls in the Woods") - Jimmy and Sabrina go on a marriage retreat, with Virginia, Burt, Tamara and her lover tagging along. Meanwhile, Barney babysits Maw-Maw, a sentence I didn't think I'd be writing any time soon. (FOX)

Hart of Dixie ("Suspicious Minds") - Zoe is jealous when it seems like Wade is getting close with another woman; Lavon lets Lemon be his campaign manager, because those are both totally names that exist. Also: Brick and Magnolia struggle to get household chores done without Lemon. God I love the south. (The CW)

Pretty Little Liars ("This Is A Dark Ride") - Halloween Special! Now with 100% more Adam Lambert, because few men on Earth better embody the year-round spirit of Halloween. Look for performances of "Trespass" and "Cuckoo." Also, lots of guyliner. (ABC Family)

8:30 PM ET

Ben & Kate ("Emergency Kit") - Kate wants Ben to be prepared in the event of an emergency, while BJ develops feelings for her boss. Also, Ben's crazy ex visits, because "crazy" and "comedy" are closer friends than Mac and Cheese. (FOX)

9:00 PM ET

Happy Endings ("Cazsh Dummy Spillionaires") - In the season premiere of one of TV's most tragically-underrated comedies, Dave and Alex contemplate giving their relationship another try, while Max tends to an injured Penny. But complications arise when Max develops a bit of a crush on Penny's physical therapist. Also, Brad tries to keep a secret from Jane, apparently having learned nothing of Jane's omniscience where her marriage is concerned. (ABC)

NCIS: Los Angeles ("Dead Body Politic") - The team investigates the sudden death of a US Senatorial candidate's staffer. Was it an accident or murder? Cool James and Robin are on the case. (CBS)

Go On ("Any Given Birthday") - The group plans a scavenger hunt for Ryan's big day, while Sonia takes care of Steven following his colonoscopy. Also, Anne bonds with Mr. K, proving that human contact with Mr. K is totally possible. (NBC)

New Girl ("Models") - Jess fills in for Cece at a car show, while Schmidt buys Nick a cookie, provoking an episode-long rumination on the nature of male friendship. Deep. (FOX)

Emily Owens, M.D. ("Emily and...the Alan Zolman Incident") - Emily is in a race to get approval on an unorthodox procedure when a patient's life hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, Micah meets someone new while accompanying his mother to chemotherapy. Talk about your strange meet-cutes. (The CW)

9:30 PM ET

The X Factor ("Judge's House #3") - After getting pre-empted last week, FOX squeezes the dramatic reveal of our final 16 into an already-crammed Tuesday night lineup, hoping to mitigate the full-scale disaster that is season 2 of The X Factor USA. The hour-long special will bump back your local news, so I fully expect a pair of passive-aggressive anchors from my local affiliate, come airtime. Attitudes may vary by region, of course. (FOX)

The New Normal ("The Godparent Trap") - Bryan and David want their friends, Victoria and Tiffany, to be their baby's godparents, while Bryan contemplates the traditions of his Roman Catholic upbringing, turning to a priest at his local church for guidance. (NBC)

Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 ("A Reunion...") - In the night's other big season premiere, James Van Der Beek ignores Chloe's advice and decides to organize a "Dawson's Creek" reunion. Or try to, at least. Maybe this will answer the burning question of what Kerr Smith's been up to. (ABC)

10:00 PM ET

Private Practice ("You Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone") - The final season continues with the case of a little girl who vanishes from the ER. In other developments, Addison and Jake have it out over a patient, and a new doctor arrives at Saint Ambrose. (ABC)

Vegas ("(Ill)Legitimate") - The local Milwaukee crew targets Savino, while Sheriff Lamb investigates the homicide of a maid with ties to one of the wealthiest businessmen in town. (CBS)

Parenthood ("I'll Be Right Here") - Kristina is dismayed to learn that Max is giving a speech the same day as her surgery, while Drew and Sarah disagree over the latter's decision to move in with Mark. Also: Ryan asks Amber out. (NBC)

Underemployed ("The Crib") - MTV's freshman dramedy follows up its premiere with an episode in which Raviva threatens to move out, Daphne continues her romance with Todd, and Sophia gets arrested. (MTV)

Covert Affairs ("Wishful Beginnings") - Eyal and his boss request the CIA's assistance in tracking a Mossad asset. (USA)

Sons Of Anarchy ("Toad's Wild Ride") - Things go sideways as Jax takes matters into his own hands.
