What's On TV Tonight? - 10/25/2012
7:30 PM ET2012 World Series ("Game 2") - The other networks are more than likely praying that this series will be a sweep, just to have it over with. The World Series is the McGruff of the Fall TV Season, taking a bite out of huge chunks of regular audiences. Can't imagine that's a healthy diet. (FOX)
8:00 PM ET
Last Resort ("Skeleton Crew") - Sam and Marcus enter negotiations with the U.S. government in hope of ending the standoff on Sainte Marina. ABC is promising an explosive episode, though they should probably lead with a stronger tease than the promise of negotiations. Though it seems to work pretty well for Survivor. (ABC)
The Big Bang Theory ("The Holographic Excitation") - The gang heads to Stuart's comic book store to celebrate Halloween, while Leonard uses science to seduce Penny. Because really, all seduction is science, said no one ever. (CBS)
The Vampire Diaries ("The Rager") - Tyler receives an unexpected visit from Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), a werewolf who once helped him. Meanwhile, Elena decides to continue her senior year at high school. Also: Connor talks Jeremy into helping him uncover the secrets of Mystic Falls, which probably has something to do with the positively profane amount of parties thrown from week-to-week. (The CW)
8:30 PM ET
30 Rock ("Unwindulax") - The writers mess with Jenna as she struggles to appease her new fan base, while Liz and Jack compete to influence voters in the presidential election. Good luck with Ohio. (NBC)
Two and a Half Men ("That's Not What They Call It In Amsterdam") - Walden ignores Alan's warnings and starts dating Rose (Melanie Lynskey), because if Fatal Attraction has taught us anything, it's that a shot of "crazy" really spices things up in the bedroom. (CBS)
9:00 PM ET
Grey's Anatomy ("I Saw Her Standing There") - Richard asks Dr. Avery to help with a complicated procedure, while Callie and Alex face their guilt. Also: Out of consideration for Derek, Meredith stops talking about her surgeries. Should at least be more fun than playing the Grey's Anatomy videogame for Wii. (ABC)
Person of Interest ("Triggerman") - Reese and Finch wonder if they should intervene when they learn that a mob enforcer's life is in danger; Finch turns to an unexpected source for help. PSY, maybe? (CBS)
The Office ("Here Comes Treble") - Sadly, this episode is not about Steve Smith's a capella group on American Dad. It is, however, about Andy's old a cappella group, which he invites to perform for Halloween, leading to a confrontation with his "frenemy," a word that needs to get used way more often than it does. Meanwhile, Dwight tries to track down a madman in the office. Also: Jim and Pam fight over his new job. Because they can't just be the cute couple all the time, though why the hell not, I'll never know. (NBC)
Project Runway All Stars ("Redemption on the Runway") - Project Runway returns for its twelfth season, and its second all-stars season, with fourteen designers getting a second chance to design their asses off. Or, at the very least, design other people's asses into form-fitting attire. (Lifetime)
The Real Housewives of Miami ("Bras and Brawls") - Depending on your threshold for cattiness, you may or may not find tonight's episode a particularly taxing exercise, between Karent having trouble getting along with the other women, and things going pear-shaped at Lisa's Lingerie Party. As a fairly typical male, I have no idea how a Lingerie Party could possibly go wrong. But then, I imagine there's a lot of cumbersome planning involved, and the more planning involved, the greater the likelihood of the event looking a lot more like a finished game of Jenga. (Bravo)
9:30 PM ET
Parks and Recreation ("Halloween Surprise") - Ben gets a job offer, forcing Leslie to think about their future; Ron and Andy take Diane's girls trick-or-treating; Tom looks for a new business idea. Might I suggest the Dog Gone Dog Thong? (NBC)
10:00 PM ET
Scandal ("Beltway Unbuckled") - The parents of a missing college student seek help; David gets help on the Cytron case from an unexpected source; Mellie proves her political prowess. And Scandal finally gets around to using its episode titles to make the joke everyone was making in 1998. (ABC)
Elementary ("The Rat Race") - Holmes consults on a case involving a Wall Street executive who seems to have died from a heroin overdose, while also encouraging Watson to start dating again. I hear good things about OK Cupid, once you get past the crazies. (CBS)
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia ("The Maureen Ponderosa Wedding Massacre") - The gang does weddings just about as well as they do funerals, so it Dennis crashing his ex-wife's wedding should be a fittingly disastrous undertaking. (FX)
Jersey Shore ("Let's Make It Official") - Jenni wonders where she stands with Roger; Mike is ready to take his relationship to the next level until he gets a dose of reality. The mind reels at what "taking it to the next level" would even entail for The Situation. Matching couples tattoos of his face? Romantic readings of his "book" by candlelight? We're through the looking glass, here. (MTV)
