Weird Al Parodies Robin Thicke With 'Word Crimes'
Weird Al Yankovic is back with the latest video in his #8videos8days project in promotion of his new album, Mandatory Fun, which just released today.
Yesterday's inaugural video was his parody of Pharrell's Oscar-nominated megahit "Happy". The video for "Tacky" featured celebrities left and right, as Aisha Tyler, Jack Black, Kristen Schaal and more. In short, it was a catchy-ass song with a very amusing video, which means today's video has a high bar to clear. But I'd argue "Word Crimes" is Weird Al's best in years. Perhaps that's because I'm a word nerd, but a grammar lesson masked as a parody of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" is authentically genius (and the dancing punctuation marks are adorable). Now I'm genuinely intrigued how he could possibly top this tomorrow. Check out the full video below:
