Warner Music Group Paid for Roxanne Shanté's PhD Story - Not True
Slate investigated the recent story that appeared in the NY Daily News of a rapper getting her education paid for by Warner because of a loophole in her contract. Their findings: no true. Shante herself said via e-mail that she does not have a PhD, and the freelance writer who wrote the story for the Daily News cannot be found.
Sad. Why do stories that make us feel good for ourselves have to be fiction?
