VIDEO: The new 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Teaser Has Apes on Horses

Got a case of the Mondays? Well, will apes riding into battle on horses help?

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is on the way, and the latest teaser promises chaos on a scale we've yet to see from the franchise. And that includes the original film series. The 2011 reboot, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, built up the eventual supremacy of the apes, and this sequel pulls the proverbial trigger, showing how humanity lost dominance. Andy Serkis returns to provide motion-capture for Caesar, the leader of the ape resistance. It was a nuanced, terrifying performance in Rise, and it looks every bit as fierce and formidable in Dawn. In short, I can't possibly be any more ready for a movie this summer than I am for this. (It hits theaters on my birthday, for crying out loud!)

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes releases on July 11.
