VIDEO: So Jon Hamm was on 'Big Date' in the 90s

Before Mad Men, before Dick Whitman, and before Don Draper, Jon Hamm was just a 25-year-old waiter. And, apparently, he picked up ladies the same way everyone else in their 20s did in the 90s: on a cheesy dating show.

Buzzfeed dug up video evidence that Hamm once appeared on The Big Date, a poor man's Dating Game / Love Connection where a woman picks between three bachelors who attempt to entice her with extravagant (well, by glorious 90s standards) date ideas. This is how the future star of Mad Men found himself competing for the hand of Mary, a young woman with a foot fetish. He ultimately wasn't chosen, getting passed over for some random 28-year-old stuntman. But I'd argue Hamm still came out on top (lack of Emmy wins notwithstanding). You can watch Hamm's clip, along with the full episode, below via Entertainment Weekly. Just remember, once it's over, that this never happened. It will shock you how much it never happened:
