VIDEO: Emma Stone Sings on a Reality Competition in 2004 for Our Amusement
Anybody remember The New Partridge Family?
You could easily be forgiven for having forgotten, since the proposed 2004 reboot of The Partridge Family never actually got picked up by a major network. Which kind of rendered In Search of the New Partridge Family, a competition which sought to fill the roles of the new cast, largely pointless. Well, except for one big positive: it gave the world Emma Stone.
Yes, not only was Emma Stone one of the finalists on the competition, she actually made it all the way to the end, winning the role of Laurie Partridge in the grand finale of the VH1 show.
“You go in there rolling your eyes, thinking, ‘this is just a reality search competition,’ but then you’re there for seven weeks, and you just really, really want to win,” Stone said in her upcoming May cover story for Vogue.
Yet while The New Partridge Family never got picked up to series, we still have the opportunity to see Stone rocking out to tracks from rockers Pat Benatar and Meredith Brooks in the series of clips below. Marvel at the pipes on Stone, and wonder what might have been had the show actually been picked up, below:
