VIDEO: Cory Monteith's mother speaks about his death on Good Morning America

Ann McGregor, the mother of Cory Monteith, was on Good Morning America on Thursday, July 17, 2014 talking about her son.

It's been one year since Monteith died of a drug overdose in a hotel room in Canada.

She said that she did not blame Hollywood for Monteith's drug troubles. She said: "It was his choice."

She added that the Glee star's troubles started because of his desire to get closer to his father which was difficult.

"The loss is horrendous. I'm beginning to accept it," she said. "I'm still in awe... always will be," she added on how her son became a star. She hasn't seen any of the tributes on Glee over the past year as she couldn't look at any of Cory's pictures.
