VIDEO: Alex Preston Talks Hurt Feelings, Alex and Sierra, Rush Week on 'Reality Check'

Alex Preston was one of the frontrunners to win American Idol XIII from his very first audition, in the eyes of many viewers. And his trajectory on the show seemed to mostly bear that out, as he never hit the Bottom 3, and never seemed to be at any real risk for elimination...which is why it was somewhat surprising when he finished in third place.

But Alex isn't bitter at all. In fact, he seems more than satisfied with his Idol run. This interview with TVLine writer and Reality Check host Michael Slezak gets into the highs and lows of Alex's run in the competition, from rearranging songs from The Police, No Doubt, Willie Nelson, and more, to the funky song he almost did for Rush Week. Alex also discusses Hollywood Week, questions of artistry, hurt feelings, his friendship with The X Factor USA's Alex and Sierra, his relationship with fellow finalist Jillian Jensen, and the super-lame twists this season, including the Top 5 Week twist that led to Alex's controversial "No" vote and the elimination of good friend Sam Woolf. As usual, Slezak offers up an insightful interview with a really talented guy. So check out the full video below via TVLine.com:
