VIDEO: Alex Preston sings 'Don't Speak' on American Idol 2014
Alex Preston sang "Don't Speak" by No Doubt on American Idol XIII 2014 Season 13 Top 9.
Preparation
A year ago Alex was playing shows in bars, saving money for school. He was writing lyrics on his notebook while he was selling vegetables in a farm stand. One day he dropped his notebook in a puddle and the song was lost forever.
Performance Video
This started out with Alex just tapping the guitar, nice! He is definitely the most artistic contestant this season. I like this version. He "Alexified" it. Hope it's an iTunes hit!

|---|---|
| Keith Urban: I love that you've got your thing, it's consistent. I feel like you could give a bit of edge in the delivery. | |
| Jennifer Lopez: I can't help but think of Gwen Stefani. (Your version) kinda sucked the energy out of the song. | |
| Harry Connick Jr.: This is such an exciting time for you as an artist and your life. |
During Ryan Seacrest's interview -- Harry Connick stole Ryan's shoe!
