VIDEO: 50 Cent Responds to Critics of His Legendarily Awful First Pitch
After 50 Cent threw out what was perhaps the worst ceremonial first pitch in the history of Major League Baseball at the Mets game Tuesday night, the rapper has been the source of ridicule, even though he never really purported to be much of a baseball player in the first place. Still, the flub wasn't a good look for 50, so some damage control is necessary.
To this end, 50 Cent took to his Instagram account to address all those critics giving him a hard time over the pitch. Of course, int his case, "address" simply means 50 proclaims he throws "8-balls, 7s, 14, 28s, 62s, 125s, and 250s better than all you motherf***ers." Still, I suppose 50 isn't without his charm, since he seems to have a bit of a tongue-in-cheek attitude about his pitching fail, with the caption for the video reading, "I'm a hustler not a Damn ball player. LMAO #smsaudio #animalambition." And the hashtags tell the tale there, as this mess is great publicity for his new album, Animal Ambition. Some online are even speculating that this entire debacle was a carefully calculated marketing stunt. Of course, nobody has any actual evidence to go on beyond the vague hunch that a guy THAT cut couldn't possibly throw a pitch THAT bad unless he was actively trying to. But who knows? Not everyone is made to play ball.
Animal Ambition releases next Tuesday, June 3rd, but you can pass the time by checking out 50's video response to the pitching fiasco below:
