Valerie Harper Sued for Developing Brain Cancer
Valerie Harper is in the midst of a $2 million lawsuit with Broadway playwright Matthew Lombardo, for failing to inform him that she had developed brain cancer.
The suit alleges that after Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2012 she didn't tell producers of the play Looped, costing Lombardo $500,000.
He is seeking an addition $1.5 million in damages.
According to the lawsuit, as a result of the cancer, Harper began slurring and forgetting lines.
Just for the record, Harper originally sued the play first, for failing to honor her contract, or more specifically for not paying her the final amount owed after she was forced to pull out of the play.
Which was expected considering she was told she only had months left to live.
Even though she has yet to be dubbed cancer-free, Harper says that, "Right now what I am is cautiously optimistic about my present condition and I have hope for the future."
