V - We Can't Win - Vcap

Anna heads to Switzerland to speak at a political conference and brings Chad along for the ride. She is not welcome by everyone and faces her first open opposition. Finally, someone with a brain. He's not as thrilled with the promises of help and healing from the Visitors because all he sees are the negative side effects. It comes down to his bottom line, jobs and money that the world is losing out on which he seems to find more important than helping fellow humans. It's a tough decision to make. The healing and the power are amazing gifts but would you support them if they came at a price? Luckily for Anna, a natural disaster strikes an island and humans are unable to send rescue fast enough. Anna swoops in and sends the Blue Technology she's offering and makes herself look like a savior. She is now allowed to give her presentation on why she wants to share the clean, pollution-free energy she will provide and everyone is impressed. Almost. The commander is still worried about her intentions and leads Chad to believe that the Visitors are not just Visiting, but here to stay.

Tyler is continuing to display what a weiner he is by avoiding talking to his mom about the drama with his dad. Instead, he runs away to hang out with Lisa in the V ship. Running away is not going to solve anything Tyler. But I suppose a hot girl is more appealing than a fight with your mom. Lisa is the last to be given the Empathy Test and Joshua is surprised to learn that she fails. He considers that her feelings for Tyler might be turning her and he lies for her. What favor will he ask of her in return? Tyler wants to get away so Lisa takes him to fly around in outer space. Sounds fun. Tyler tells her he's considering joining the live aboard program and she responds by having sex with him. It's a good day for Tyler.

Someone not having a great day is Valerie. Since discovering that Ryan has been lying to her, she leaves without telling anyone her whereabouts and Ryan makes it his mission to find her before it's too late. A normal doctor will tell her there's something wrong with her baby. Val, probably sensing that normal doctors haven't been doing her any good, makes her way to the V healing centers to be checked out. Her doctor there is shocked to discover her baby is a Visitor and immediately tries to kill her. Ryan shows up just in time to save her and they run out. It's really creepy seeing the alien sonogram swish its tail around. Blech!

Erica is surprised to learn that the 5th Column is being investigated after a series of murders of fellow members is revealed. One man, Alex Caruso, escapes and Erica and co. set out to find him. The murderer took a hard drive filled with the names of many other fifth column members and he's slowly murdering them one by one. They decide to use Alex as bait to attract the murderer before he can harm anyone else. They need to get that list of names. Sadly, the tips Ryan gives them turn out to be unhelpful and Alex panics and gets shot. Jack is visibly upset that he failed to keep Alex safe like he promised and it seems to be foreshadowing a new Jack. Will he want revenge? Erica and Hobbes catch the gunman and discover that he was not a Visitor at all, but a human.
