V - Laid Bare - Recap
Last week left off with Malik revealing herself to Erica before they get into a car crash. This week picks up right where they left off and has Erica getting her ass kicked by Malik. She obviously lost the fighting skills she picked up on Lost. Malik is knocked unconscious as Jack and Kyle show up to save her. Jack rushes to Erica's aid and it's so sweet. Ahhh I ship them together. I love it. They bring Malik back to their hideout where they debate over how to torture her for answers. They string her up and Ryan cuts off some of her finger so he can go search her apartment. That was gutsy but can Ryan be trusted?
Anna is continuing to blackmail Ryan with his daughter for answers on the Fifth Column. Will he cave? Anna has her own daughter issues lately. She worries about Lisa's possible future betrayal and tries to groom her to become just like her. Lisa notices that her body is changing in a way that makes her reptilian skin move. Needless to say that shocks her. Anna tells her she's becoming fertile and will someday become queen. Anna has Joshua create a machine that she thinks will extract the soul out of a human. The V's start abducting people to test on and Anna forces Lisa to kill. She breaks down and turns to Erica for support.
Is Anna really grooming her to become queen or is she just using her to get to Tyler? And what's up with Tyler anyway? Besides him being a total goober. Sid reveals to Erica that Tyler's DNA is missing a piece, presumably so the V's could put something in. But what? Is this all part of their breeding plan? The Visitors obviously took out part of Tyler's brain as well in my opinion. Tyler continues to be a boob and eagerly puts Jack on Anna's radar.
Anna is intrigued by Jack and has Chad interview him for the world to see. Noooo. What is she planning? Save Jack! Anna tarnishes Jack's reputation by planting a hostile V in his church and encouraging a fist fight to break out with Jack. Jack is now a viral youtube video and is no longer trustworthy. Anna's plan seems to upset Chad more than Jack who is choosing to have faith that things will work out. Jack finally brings Chad to meet the gang and welcome him into the group. Ehhh can Chad be trusted? Oh yeah, did I mention Tyler is the spy who took the video of Jack? Ugh. I hope Anna eats him.
Erica agrees to have Malik skinned for answers. Ryan cautions that it will kill her so they will have precious little time to get answers. Despite Sid needing her alive DNA to test about their Tyler mystery, Erica agrees. Kyle can't contain his happiness to finally torture this chick. Skinning is really disgusting to watch and apparently Kyle isn't doing a disgusting enough job. Ryan flips out and hacks off her tail and the rest of her skin and they finally get some answers about the people being abducted. Nothing on Tyler though and Malik dies.
This episode was intense. I love how they're not stopping with the suspense and every week there's something new to speculate about. I love the chemistry between Erica and Jack and I hope ABC keeps this show around for another season.
