V - Birth Pangs - Recap
Since the death of her ex husband, Erica isn't playing games. She's completely ready to take over the leadership Eli left behind for her. Erica and Hobbes go to China to meet with other 5th Column members working with Eli. They don't trust her yet and want her to prove herself to them. She's more than willing to step up to the plate. She wants revenge on Anna more than anything and with Tyler living on the ship and not speaking to her, that want becomes more of a need.
Erica and Hobbes track down the doctor who treated her when she was pregnant and find out she's not the only one who has been messed with. They break into her apartment building and hold her at gunpoint demanding answers. The gun was more than enough for Hobbes but Erica is now a beast. She whips out a huge dagger and starts carving into the doc's skull. The doctor is of course, a Visitor and Erica can't wait for her to start lying to them. Erica wants the opportunity to skin the doctor and make her feel as much pain as she is feeling. The doctor directs them to her safe but before they can get anything more out of her, she flings herself out of the window. Dust.
During all of this, Erica and Hobbes share a glance. NO no no no no no. I will not give up on Erica and Jack. Hmph. With the help of Sid, Lisa, and some creepy alien pills, they discover that Anna has been harvesting the best dna from humans for years. The goal being to fast track their evolution. And it's working. They're trying to create a super race. Why can't they just leave well enough alone? Bullies. Tyler isn't the only one being experimented on. There are 28 others around the world with exceptional DNA that Anna has her eye on. This means, Tyler is expendable.
Anna is already testing Tyler on the ship. Tyler's phosphorous levels are still too low for her liking. I guess as punishment she shaves his head. They give him a physical but it looks like they're sucking the emotion out of him. Lisa is taking up all his left over emotion. Anna wants Lisa to breed with another boy since Tyler isn't ready. Lisa questions her mother and Anna isn't happy about it. Joshua appears! Yay! I missed him. Anna asks Joshua to test Lisa and pretend he remembers working for the 5th Column. Thankfully, Lisa isn't stupid and doesn't play along.
Anna watches Lisa try to hook up with the new guy (um, ew can you say creepy?) but Lisa can't go through with it. Anna is pissed and confronts Lisa who loses her temper. Anna taunts her and they punch eachother, with Lisa drawing blood from Anna. Things are gonna be tense around the ship from now on. Anna turns her focus to her last Queen egg and Ryan's baby. She asks Joshua to try and hatch the egg for her and to begin to experiment on Ryan's baby as a last resort. They age the baby a few years and we never have to look at that baby again. It came at a price. The DNA changes have made Ryan's daughter have a high immunity so she can no longer feel chronic pain. They no longer have leverage over Ryan. Anna wants him gone. Did I mention he survived the explosion?
