Usher feat. A$AP Rocky - Hot Thing - MP3 Listen

Yesterday saw the standard version of Usher's new album Looking 4 Myself, circulate across the net, courtesy of UK iTunes. Now one of the deluxe tracks, "Hot Thing" has appeared.

After an initial listen, this song made me reminisce of the hip-hop that dominating mainstream pop in the mid-2000s. Produced by Pharrell, who also produced "Twisted" on the standard version of the album, The Neptunes frontman definitely gave Usher a good sound for his contributions to the album, appeasing urban, yet appealing to the crossover audience. The drums and busy production, along with the muffled sound, all work great for the song. The addition of new rapper A$AP Rocky was also a good idea, on behalf of both parties. Even with all of this taken into account, the song still sounds a bit slight, but the album as whole seems promising. The album is due a week from now, on June 12.
