USA Network Renews 'Satisfaction', Cancels 'Rush'
USA Network is bringing down the decisions on its summer schedule for 2015. One drama has been canceled while another has received a renewal.
First-year drama Satisfaction has been renewed for a second season while fellow freshman drama Rush has been canceled after just one season. Both series were soft in the ratings, with both opening to 1.7 million total viewers and a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating. However, Satisfaction saw huge weekly gains in Live+7 ratings, increasing by 74% among adults 18-49, and 58% in total viewers. The combination of Satisfaction's huge DVR gains and its potential for growth factored into the network's decision to renew the show. It also helps that Satisfaction is a show USA Network owns, meaning it has the potential to be far more lucrative for the network than an outside production would be.
USA Network has given the second season a 10-episode order. Created by Sean Jablonski, Satisfaction stars Matt Passmore and Stephanie Szostak as a couple with "an unconventional marriage."
"Satisfaction sparked a cultural conversation about modern love and marriage in today’s world," said USA Network President Chris McCumber, in detailing the network's decision to renew the show.
So what do you think of Satisfaction? Are you glad it's coming back? What about Rush? Are you sad to see it go, or is its cancellation unsurprising? Sound off in the comments!
