Upper East Side
The Upper East Side (along Fifth Avenue) is the richest neighborhood in Manahattan.
You don't have to be a genius to know this, and yet I had to argue repeatedly with my housemate who insisted that I knew nothing and that the richest neighborhood was Midtown East, on the strength of an anecdotal account from a hairdresser he talked to in the area. Of course I called him an idiot to his face repeatedly, but it wouldn't faze him.
Meanwhile, I had recorded American Idol on my EyeTV DVR, only to find out that it had been recording My Wife and Kids instead, even if the name on its interface said it was recording Idol. I probably would have been able to spot this somehow if I had not been too busy discussing apartments on Fifth Avenue which I've seen with my very own eyes to Mr. Stupid, but it happened. I really don't know why I have been so unlucky with this recording business, and for three times in a row now.
So now I'm depressed, and I'll just take a step back from this Idol thing until tomorrow. And I'll step back from those rich folk who live 2 miles away from me. And stop having conversations with misinformed people with obviously low IQ (although admittedly calling them slow somehow strengthens their resolve, and you quickly find yourself being lectured by an imbecile who speaks broken English and who you completely resent).
Just ruined a totally good day where I had a great time at work, had lunch with a friend and had a great yoga session.
