Once Upon A Time In Wonderland - Recap - Episode 5 - Heart of Stone
Ever wonder how Anastasia (Emma Rigby) became the evil Red Queen? You're about to find out.
Read on for our recap of episode 5 of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland: "Heart of Stone."
Through a series of flashbacks, we learn that Anastasia's mom wasn't the most understanding parent. She opposes Anastasia's relationship with Will (Michael Socha). She wanted more for her daughter. She wanted her to be a princess. Ana believes that Wonderland will give them a life they never could have dreamed of and together, her and Will jump through the looking glass.
But it's not what they dreamed of. They're struggling, without food or money and have to look on as the King (Garwin Sanford) and his subjects roll in their jewels. Ana and Will attempt to go to a royal ball but are thrown out for being peasants. The King has already encountered Anastasia and I can already see where this is going. Hey! It's Tad Raxall!
Ana is ready to return home with Will but feels it would be best to steal some of the King's jewels first. Why can anyone just walk into this castle? The King catches her of course. Instead of punishing her, he asks for her hand in marriage. This is so creepy! But Ana, as we know, accepts right away and waves to her new subjects while Will looks on, understandably shocked.
In present day, The Red Queen offers Alice a deal. If she helps her find some magic dust, she'll return the favor by revealing where Cyrus is. Couldn't they come up with a better name than "magic dust"? The Red Queen takes Alice to a ravine where only the pure of heart can cross. Alice makes it a few steps and falls. She encounters a younger version of herself that tries to convince her to kill the Red Queen.
Alice, pure of heart, refuses. She is granted the magic dust. The Red Queen, however, doesn't keep her deal and makes off with the dust, leaving some behind for Alice.
The Red Queen uses her dust to free Will from his statuesque state and Alice uses her dust to see Cyrus' location. Ironic, because Cyrus just escaped. Will they find each other?
Jafar is busy torturing the White Rabbit for information on Alice. After cutting off his foot, the two of them take a trip to a new realm? World? Where are they going?
