Once Upon A Time in Wonderland - Recap - Episode 4 - The Serpent
The most important thing that needs to be said about tonight's episode of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland is that Jafar has straightened his hair. Yes, he has a new wig. RIP that glorious perm.
Read on for our recap of episode 4 of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland: "The Serpent".
The episode kicks off with a flashback to Agrabah and immediately I know we're going to be learning more about Jafar. I am curious if they will be able to make me sympathize with him because right now I'm not feeling it. Long story short: Jafar was abandoned by his father, the Sultan and he turns to a sorceress to teach him black magic (guest star Zuleikha Robinson). A LOST reunion! And a loss of innocence.
The two are in love for several years and are on a mission together to collect the three genies of the world so they can become the most powerful sorcerers of all time. Jafar has other ideas. He "kills" his partner in crime and turns her into a snake AKA that staff he's been carrying around. Well, now we know why he wants Cyrus so much.
Back in Wonderland, Jafar wants the Red Queen to eliminate Will. He must know something. Will is getting annoying. He needs to stop with all the "Blood Hell!" It's Ron Weasley levels of annoying. Almost as annoying as The Red Queen's ever-evolving accent.
She offers to let Will run away but he hates her so she agrees to a public execution, hoping that Alice will finally use one of her wishes. Instead, Alice manages to help Will escape. Well, that was really easy.
Oops. Spoke too soon. The duo are cornered by both Jafar and the Red Queen. Alice is tortured by Jafar and she makes one wish: If Will dies, she dies. Kind of an odd wish. Frustrated, Jafar turns Will to stone. Well, at least he's quiet now.
