Read on for our recap of episode 11: "Heart of the Matter".

In an effort to find the whereabouts of his mother, Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) goes to see the Caterpillar to make a deal. He walks in like he owns the place and sweet talks the chubster with no real intention of making that deal. A miniature Alice (Sophie Lowe) steals a "Lost and Found". Similar to that compass of Jack Sparrow's, this will point to what Cyrus wants to find most. Their triumph is short-lived when they receive a warning from Tweedle that Will (Michael Socha) and Anastasia (Emma Rigby) have been captured.

In a flashback, we see Anastasia meeting Cora (Barbara Hershey) for the first time. We see that Will comes to visit Ana in her castle and asks her to run away with him. Ana ultimately packs her bags to leave with Will and Cora, having overheard all of this, stops her. Cora wants to teach Anastasia magic and encourages her to leave Will. Haven't you already ruined enough lives, Cora? Isn't Regina (Lana Parilla) enough proof?

When Ana doesn't show up, Will is heartbroken. Not wanting to live with the pain, he asks Cora to remove his heart. He has the funniest reaction to getting his heart taken out than anyone on both series. "Woo!"

This would be the reason that the Jabberwocky cannot read Will's fears in present day Wonderland. Why Jafar (Naveen Andrews) can't break him. It's not a protection spell. Will doesn't have a heart.

And thus begins the hunt for Will's heart. Ahead of the others, Cyrus and Alice ask the White Rabbit (John Lithgow) to take them to Will's old place in Storybrooke. Here they are fascinated by things like light switches and ice makers. And don't get them started on cars.

He may not have a heart but Will stops Jafar from killing Anastasia by telling him where to find the heart. He may not be able to love her again but he can forgive her. Jafar meets Cyrus and Alice in the woods and whips out his serpent staff to destroy them both once and for all. Upon meeting Cyrus, Jafar's staff (teehee) won't do as he pleases and ultimately, Cyrus gains control of it.

Jafar makes off with the heart and Cyrus ponders if his mother Amara is inside this magical staff. What sort of power does he now hold?

After stuffing Will's heart back inside him, Jafar wants to make sure it's working. After Will and Ana have a very random make-out session complete with a revolving camera angle, Jafar strikes. He KILLS ANASTASIA. This is the most emotion we've ever seen from Will.

Is Anastasia really toast?
