Once Upon A Time In Wonderland - Recap - Episode 9 - Nothing To Fear

For those of you who had no idea, which is probably most of you, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland returned tonight. When we last saw our spin-off gang, a wish was made to end Alice's suffering. In doing so, Cyrus was freed from his genie shackles and Will was sent into the bottle.

With Will (Michael Socha) lost inside the bottle, Anastasia The Red Queen (Emma Rigby), Alice (Sophie Lowe), and Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) agree to work together to find him. There is a bit of a dilemma here because Jafar (Naveen Andrews), who is extremely powerful, wants to find him first. Alice, not wanting to trust the Red Queen, is forced to do so when it becomes clear she has been abducted.

Anastasia is tied up by peasants looking for revenge after her crappy rule as queen. It's so sad seeing Anastasia realize no one would pay to free her. Cyrus uses a spell to find her and the two of them attempt to free her with a compromise. That 'aint gonna work here. Before long, the trio is tied up together and left to be eaten by mysterious creatures in the woods. To save their lives, Alice has to give up her necklace so the three can continue their quest to find Will.

But it's okay. She gets some more jewelry! And I think she's going to like this one. Cyrus gets down on one knee, proposes, and gives Alice a ring. Their happily ever after may not come easily, but they'll find it together.

Will and his bottle are found by his old friend the Lizard. She inadvertently becomes his master but isn't happy to hear he can't make anyone fall in love because the person she loves is Will. She uses her first wish to let Will have a few beers with the town. Her second wish is used to turn herself into Will's perfect woman, complete with fireworks. These fireworks are ultimately how the trio find their location. But they're too late.

When she confesses her feelings for Will and sees that he doesn't feel the same, she lets slip the words "I just wish you'd feel something for me! Anything!" Now, when they say magic comes at a price, they mean it. By saying those words, Liz actually kills herself. Will is sent back into his bottle to feel nothing but sadness.

Anastasia finds him soon after, rubs the bottle, and becomes his master. She agrees to stay to complete their next mission...because they can't just be happy and peaceful can they? Jafar is after the three genies and Cyrus realizes these are his brothers and they must be saved.

Jafar is looking for help. From the advice of Tweedle's head, Jafar goes in search of the Jabberwocky. In this case, it's a chick in a bad wig who can get inside your head and use it against you. Has Jafar met his match?
