TV Scoop: 'Sons of Anarchy' Premiere Date, 'Vampire Diaries' Casting, 'Rebels' Trailer
It's a busy day for TV addicts, as tons of scoops are filing in on shows that couldn't possibly be more different if they tried.
Seriously, Star Wars doesn't have a whole lot to do with vampires, and none of that has anything to do with badass biker gangs. But hey, TV is exciting like that, as a whole bunch of unrelated shows get to chill out in the same news post.
So let's kick it off with the darkest show in the lineup (depending on whom you ask)...

The seventh and final season of FX's Sons of Anarchy finally has a premiere date: Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:00 PM ET.
And that's not all! FX announced that the premiere will be a super-sized, feature-length episode that will run one hour and 45 minutes. In addition, immediately following the premiere, FX will air a live post-show Anarchy Afterword hosted by Chelsea Lately's Chris Franjola. This post-show will air twice during the final season: once after the premiere, and again after the series finale.
If you're too excited to wait for the premiere, get caught up on all the news, such as the casting of Marilyn Manson, and fellow rocker Courtney Love, or check out the official teaser trailer. This is going to be an insane season of TV!

Meanwhile, Eureka's Colin Ferguson isn't the only person heading to Mystic Falls this fall.
Hit the Floor's Jodi Lyn O’Keefe has been cast in Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries in an interesting new role. O'Keefe will play Jo, "a tough and accomplished doctor at the university hospital. She demands excellence from her students and has learned the hard way that there’s no room for error in her profession."
And she's not coming alone, either: The Client List's Marco James will also join the cast in the season premiere. James will play the role of Liam, "an upperclassman at Whitmore College who also happens to be a med student."
Could Liam and Jo be connected? If so, what does that mean for the folks of Mystic Falls? We'll find out when The Vampire Diaries returns for its sixth season on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8:00 PM on The CW.

Lastly, Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter franchise and so much more) has been cast as the lead villain in the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. And we've got a new trailer showing him in action!
Isaacs will play The Inquisitor, the villain tasked with killing the remaining Jedi following the Sith takeover after the Clone Wars. The original trilogy always implied that hunting down Jedi after the Clone Wars was Darth Vader's job, but I suppose it doesn't exactly break the canon for him to have had help, especially help as intimidating as The Inquisitor. He's a member of the Pau’an race, and is the first character confirmed for the series. And he's not a ball of threatening rage like Darth Vader.
“He’s cold, he’s analytical, he doesn’t get angry,” said Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo. “We all took care to make sure our villains have real presence and our heroes just can’t walk all over him. This isn’t like cartoons I grew up with in the 80s where you’d have the villain lose every week and yet every week we’d have to believe he’s some sort of threat. When The Inquisitor shows up, it means something significant and it’s a definite challenge for our heroes.”
