Troye Sivan - YouTube Spotlight - 07/02/2010
Troye Sivan is one amazing, amazing kid! At thirteen, he posted an acapella version of UK singer Declan Galbraith's song, "Tell Me Why" on YouTube. His singing career began performing for a local telethon, which he did from 2006 - 2008. He tried out and made it to the grand finals of StarSearch 2007. His debut album, Dare To Dream was released in February of 2008. Recently, he was the opening singer for the We Are The World 25 for Haiti (YouTube Edition), produced by Lisa Lavie.
His acting career began when a Hollywood agent contacted Sivan after seeing his telethon performance on Youtube and asked for a audition tape for the role of Young James Howlett in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine for which he got the role.
In July of 2009, he successfully auditioned for the lead role in the movie Spud, a film adaptation of a 2005 novel by South African author John van de Ruit. A movie teaser was released on July 1, 2010 on Troye's YouTube site for which he is also singing.
This guy has singing and acting talent and potential for awesome things. I hope we see him around for years to come.
