Travis Garland and Perez Hilton to appear on American Idol next week

Perez Hilton picked next week's guest artist because he is producing a show with Simon Fuller. He is a new artist named Travis Garland (who was Kevin McHale's boyband-mate in NLT).

Is Simon Fuller testing the waters for Perez Hilton to be a judge???

We could be getting another Justin from the If I Can Dream House with this Travis guy.

From L.A. Times:

Newcomer Travis Garland, a former member of defunct boy band NLT (which also featured Kevin McHale of "Glee" fame) who's now signed to Geffen Records as a solo artist, scored the much coveted slot on next week's "American Idol."

Travis, a Lubbock, Texas, native, will perform his debut single, "Believe," on Wednesday's show, while being backed by label mates Street Drum Corps. Perez Hilton, who's on a boy band search with Simon Fuller for a yet-to-be-named television show and was allowed this booking by Fuller for any artist of his choice, is also expected to be in attendance.
